Here on the banks of the Jökulsarlon Ice Lake in South East Iceland, we were suddenly surprised with some colour in the sky. After a fairly grey day, we acted quickly to find some compositions among the shore ice. I chose this piece because it was grounded and still, but mostly because it allowed reflections of the sky colours in interesting places. It is not a waste to shoot on grey days or drizzly days (so long as you look after yourself and equipment), that is the most serious practice you can do and prepares you for when the interesting light occurs.
