Stokksness is a beautiful coastal area in East Iceland. It is famous because of its views of Vestrahorn mountain.
For this photo, I used a magic cloth technique to give the sky occasional short bursts of exposure to increase the blur. Over the 30 seconds, I exposed the sky with around 6 X half second bursts… equalling about 3 seconds.
The foreground had around 20 seconds of exposure, because half of the sky exposures were reverse grad exposures.
Thanks to Ronni Hauks for introducing me to this side. Ronnie nearly lost his life shortly after this photo was taken. A freak wave nearly washed him off the rocks just in front of me. I was so glad to see him emerge again and thought that this ws a warning to any visitors who might want to walk out on the rocks.
