Sterna travel offer these hop-on hop-off bus tickets called passports. They used to provide passports all around Iceland, but now these passports are limited to the Highland passport for hikers who want to start a hike in the highlands and get the return bus from the end of their hike.

The Highland Hikers Passport is perfect for hikers who want hike the famous Laugavegur route. This enduring hike is 3-5-days from Landmannalaugar to Þórsmörk, or a couple of days hike through Fimmvörðuháls pass via Skógarfoss to Þórsmörk. It is possible to combine the two trails into a longer hike. Our Highland Hikers passport gives you transport from Reykjavik to the beginning of your hike and then back from the finish.

Starting points

You can choose three locations to start from: Skógafoss waterfall, Landmannalaugar or Þórsmörk.

If you are going to do the Fimmvörðuháls or Laugavegur hike, you must decide where you want to begin and finish.

  • Fimmvörðuháls start at Skógar or Þórsmörk.
  • Laugavegur start at Þórsmörk or Landmannalaugar.
  • The combination start at Skógar or Landmannalaugar.
