This beautiful Iceland Landscape features a mountain called Hofell which is an ancient volcano in the South Eastern part of Iceland.
This South Iceland spot can be very good for Northern lights photography because there is a possibility of capturing a reflection of the Aurora Borealis in the landscape.
We found ourselves in East Iceland looking at a northern Lights forecast. Not to be defeated, we decided to head back to Vestrahorn mountain with a view to doing star trails or some form of night photography.
We were making our way down to the glacier tongue at Svinfallsjökull when I spot the colour in the clouds above Kristinatindur.
The grass anchors itself in the black sand forming tussocks from the drifting sand. Small pools form after heavy rain or melting snow.
We checked out the Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall earlier in the day and there were 6 – 10 tourists walking through the scene at any one time.
I demonstrate a lightroom preset on this photo of Brunahorn in East Iceland.
