Interesting Icelandic Churches

I used to joke that there are more churches in Iceland than people. Outside of Reykjavik, this is almost the case. There is a church on almost every farm, village or hamlet. Christianity has been the dominant religion in Iceland for the last thousand years.

Lómagnúpur Mountain – East Iceland

Lómagnúpur Mountain is in the South East Iceland between Kirkjubæjarklaustur and Skaftafell National park. It is named after the Lómag – a bird that frequents the cliff face.
