Vestrahorn Mountain

Stokksnes Beach

Home » Prints » Landscape Prints » Stokksnes Beach

Stokksnes is a small promontory in East Iceland, near the town of Hofn. The black sand beach is nice with a very slow gradient which allows for big reflective areas. The main attraction is the Vestrahorn Mountain. This is one of the oldest mountains in Iceland dating back 11 million years.

I took this Iceland landscape photo on a pleasant day with a bit of sea mist out in the Norwegian sea. The little stream and boulders on the beach led so nicely to the mountain, that I decided to crop this image into a square frame. The mist adds a bit of atmosphere to the picture.
