A breathtaking sight to behold is the Diamond Beach at the Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon in Vatnjokull Glacier, Iceland. With its captivating black beaches and brilliant diamond-like ice chunks from the largest glacier in Europe, this unique location is a beach in front of a sizable glacial lagoon.
Early morning on the glacier Ice Beach at Jokulsarlon. In the middle of Winter the sun rises close to 11 am. In good conditions, there is pre-dawn light for a couple of hours before the sunrise.
These glacier ice jewels were sat on soft, velvety sand. The clouds in the sky were opening to form a window for the pre-dawn light. The blue of the ice took on colours of the sky as they reflected & refracted the light.
