This was a very misty evening at Jokulsarlon. As soon as the Aurora became active, the sea-mist lifted revealing the glacier ice and amazing reflections. Capturing the Northern lights with a lake full of icebergs is a spiritual experience. Having a great reflection really make the photo special.
Any photographer would be crazy not to take as many photos as possible in these conditions, but I had to stop for a while to take in this incredible view.
This stunning Northern lights photos will look great on the wall and is a great gift for the home.
Aurora Superstitions
In the Viking days, the Icelanders though the auroras were the spirits of warriors travelling to Valhalla. Some older nations have believe the northern lights are war omens. The Chinese have always believed that the Northern Lights were very lucky & could help with fertility. Pregnant women in medieval Iceland were not allowed to whistle in the presence of auroras to prevent them being taken away.
