We had an amazing photo shoot at Drholaey on the return leg of our 5 day Winter Workshop. The area was suffering with heavy rain on day 1 when we passed through, but we were rewarded with incredible clouds on our last day of the photo workshop.
Landscape photography becomes a very different game when you switch from wide angle to telephoto. This image was taken with my Canon EF 135mm f/1.4. It was all about placing the Reynisdrangar sea-stacks in a good position at the bottom of the frame to let the clouds dominate the space above.
The famous sea stacks at Vik are often the subject of our Winter workshops, because Winter sunsets can occur right amongst the stacks. Most of our suggested long photo tours will include Vik and Reynisdrangar although it is also possible to visit the area on our South Coast day tour.
