This was a stormy session with big waves and an exciting dawn sky. The main challenge here was there was too much ice on the beach. These ice locations, such as the ice beach at Breiðamerkursandur near Jökulsarlon are so great for learning photography because each chunk of glacier ice presents composition challenges. Each chunk of ice teaches you a little more about light and composition, because it is never what you expect, so you have to make sense of it as it is at that moment. The trouble is that regular landscape seem a little too easy after a good session with ice.
