St Patrick’s Day
This was a blazing aurora evening with Peter Gordon and a group of Irishmen on the 17th March. The cloudy sky cleared just in time which meant we could choose a great location, and where better than the light (and car park) free-zone of Fjallsarlon. It was tricky following the steep path down to the lagoon, but on the shores we had the space to be able to explore foregrounds without getting in each other’s way too much. The group was ecstatic to see auroras buzzing around over head for the whole session. The Northern lights out performed their name and left nobody disappointed.

The mountain peak is sticking out of the Vatnjokull glacier. The glacier scrapes the mountain sides as it comes and goes and makes it a little bit sharper every thousand years or so.
