Námaskarð Hverir – North Iceland

Námaskarð Hverir is a geothermal zone near Lake Mývatn in the North East of Iceland. The location features boiling mud pots and steaming fumaroles and is close to the Kraftla volcano.

Kleifarvatn Lake – West Iceland

Kleifarvatn is a fairly large lake by Icelandic standards and it used to be the deepest lake in Iceland until some deep holes were discovered in Jökulsarlon.

August 2010 Landmannalaugar

We departed from Reykjavik and headed towards the interior to a geothermal area called Landmannalaugar, the natural gem in the southern highlands of Iceland.
