The stunning Vestrahorn Mountain from the un-cultivated land at Stokksness. This was an unusually warm February and we were lucky to have some snow left on the Vestrahorn mountain. The Vestrahorn mountain is some of the oldest rock in Iceland. Vestrahorn means free viewing for everyone’s pleasure.
When I was composing this shot, I was watching the reflected colours in the rippled sand and trying to maximise the effect by being low enough for some foreground details. I was also watching the tussocks and how the group of lesser tussocks lead to the most stunning part of the Mountain. The colours are accentuated by the long exposure and the magic cloth technique controlled the balance between sky and foreground.
