Night of Ghosts
This was the night of ghosts. We were a small group of traveling photographers with our cameras set up on the banks of Jokulsarlon, glacier lagoon. We were watching the aurora build up in the sky, but the icebergs and lagoon were draped in a blanket of sea mist. To out great delight, as soon as the northern lights became active, the mist on the lake started to dissolve revealing this stunning scene of floating icebergs and reflected auroras. This was a faint, moonless evening and the long exposures empowered me to photograph a segment of the vivid green tones in the aurora. Aurora Borealis and glacial icebergs are reflected in the ice lake on this still night in Iceland. This is one of my favourite Aurora Borealis canvas prints, this photo is totally collectable and would make a radiant present for any person who loves the dramatic night skies of Iceland.

Iceland’s stunning Aurora Borealis light shows are incredible and leave you with the sensation of being on another planet. You acknowledge how ephemeral we truly are, and how excellent the Nature is. Aurora Borealis photographs can have energizing benefits on their owners.
The shades of the Aurora Borealis are a geomagnetic marvel that happens because of sun based energy from the sun entering earth’s external climate. Electrons slam into various gases in the upper environment to give a spectrum of colours. Oxygen transmits a green/yellow tone during this fierce energy event. Reds, Blues and violets are brought about by Nitrogen (the most plentiful gas) albeit the tone depends on the off chance that it is nuclear or molecule nitrogen. LINK.
The vikings accepted that the moving lights were the spirits of warriors on the way to Valhalla. Many different societies have considered them to be signs of war. In Old Old Iceland, a pregnant lady was not permitted to whistle for fear of being whisked away by the lights.
Jökulsarlon adds a touch of wizardry to any Iceland Northern Lights photo! Icelands renowned glacial lake was the location of the majority of my photography trips. The tremendous lake holds loads of ice that has fallen off the Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier which is an outlet of Vatnjökull Glacier. The ice on this lake fell as snow in the times of the Sagas. Presently the ice melts at a pace of 100 meters each year.
Green Aurora Borealis with a great reflection over the blue ice of the lagoon on Canvas will be attractive wall art in any room or space. Hang this photograph print in any space to add the spirit of Iceland and some delightful Aurora Borealis to your home decor. Share this material print with your friends and family to raise interest for Nature photo collectors.
