Kirkjufell Summer Vertical Photo paper poster

This beautiful spot is composing the Grundarfjordur fjord inlet and the well known Kirkjufell (the most shot mountain in Iceland). I have had some tremendous photo sessions from much lower down at the cascade – Kirkjufellsfoss – however on this late summer night, I chose to climb up the slope behind the falls. I had a supper of fresh, wild blueberries on the climb and this is only one of a few delightful scenes I photographed that evening. I like the tones in the frontal area rocks and the manner in which the little stream drives your eye up to the Kirkjufell mountain.
Kirkjufellsfoss cascade is a famous area on the Snæfellsnes peninsular around 40 minutes drive from Buðir dark church. Kirkjufell has as of late become the most captured mountain in Iceland. Kirkjufell is a 463 meter high mountain. From the correct point the mountain looks like a congregation steeple… or a Witches Hat. It is a superb natural landscape feature on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. It’s host – Grundarfjörður is a clean, cordial town with a combination of good and bad facilities regarding lodgings and food, however for me the draw is the steeple formed mountain (Kirkjufell) that sits only west of the harbor.
