Iceland has beauty in every corner. Normally I like to travel away from Reykjavik and the capital area to capture northern lights photos so that I can avoid man-made objects or pollution from street lights. However, on this evening, I took my camera just outside the city.
I have collected such an intensive gallery of Northern Lights photography including various brilliant Auroras reflecting in the sea, rivers of ice lagoons. A result of seeing auroras in Iceland commonly is that the impressions of wonderment become less and less. I started to feel jealous of people who were getting their first experiences of the Northern Lights.
Northern Light House was taken on the night that I bought my new camera – Canon 5D3. I took around 10 pictures with a comparative composition with the lighthouse under the aurora display. Those auroras and their appearance were green and they were becoming mare active, anyway there was a slight increase in the level of the tide, so I moved into a position where the green sea almost filled the frame. The light from the lighthouse was also reflecting right to the bottom of the photo.
The lighthouse is called Grotta and is just a 30 minute walk from downtown Reykjavik. The lighthouse is on a small island which is only accessible at low tides.
